Decided to make a handy graphic after seeing a lot of misinformation spread around tumblr. Current science isn’t perfect and definitions are bound to change, but I wanted to push back against the hostile attitude against it because it seems like a lot of people are being hostile for the wrong reasons.

Please let me know if there are any factual errors, thank you :)

I’ve seen some posts making this guilt trip of how the people who like to dress up as a sugar skull or the Catrina for halloween or whatever is racist and cultural appropriation.

Nah, it’s completely fine, as long as you are not totally ignorant about it or disrespectful, we Mexicans also celebrate Halloween, we break the piñata (which origin is chinese) And celebrate thanksgiving.

So it’s kinda hypocrate to say it’s cultural appropriation (which is not either way) cultures are beautiful and should/could be shared, there are indeed some aspects that can be racist and or appropriating, however dressing up as a sugar skull on Halloween is not in any way offensive.

It’s not like the sugar skull represents us, represents the deceased, and actually it’s just a joyful way to represent them. And the Catrina is just a social critic which became an icon later on for the day of the dead and Mexico.

Be open minded, don’t even hate, and share this rich culture we have with the rest of humanity, chill.

Can’t stop, won’t stop: Protesters in Ferguson rally again, seeking justice for Mike Brown. More than a month and a half after his death, his killer, Darren Wilson, is still a free man. (Pt 2)

Because it wouldn’t be a protest in Ferguson without fuckery from the police. A driver plowed his car through protesters, grazing several and running over a young boys foot. Beyond taking several hours to transport the boy to the hospital, they took even longer to arrest the motorist. Who did they not wait long to arrest? Two of the protesters who had been documenting the altercation for the world to see. If you’re not angry, you’re not paying attention. #staywoke #farfromover #nojusticenopeace

Protesters from across St Louis turned up and turned out for the first St Louis County Council Meeting since Mike Brown’s Death. (Part II)

The St Louis County Council meeting was a fiery afar, as residents from across the county demanded Darren Wilson’s arrest, answers for Mike Brown’s death, and expressed frustration at their own police force being turned on them like they were enemies of the state. #staywoke #farfromover

Protesters from across St Louis turned up and turned out for the first St Louis County Council Meeting since Mike Brown’s Death. (Part I)

The St Louis County Council wasn’t as bad as Ferguson’s Council, but still very few answers and virtually no accountability from the folks who unleashed unholy hell on the residents of Ferguson, following Brown’s murder. #staywoke #farfromover

How do do you know if your trans

Fox says:

  • When being referred to as your assigned name or gender pronouns, you may feel uncomfortable.
  • While looking at your body in the nude, you may feel uncomfortable.
  • You may look at someone of different gender and wish you had a life more similar to theirs.
  • You may feel a sense of belonging to a different gender, as if you were born in the “wrong” body or have the “wrong” hormones.

None of these are 100% though.

In short, you know that you’re trans if you’re not cis.

so a bout in westlake shopping center happened again with protesters trying to eat

the security officer said that the signs were being disruptive while the sign holders weren’t chanting in the building, they were eating with their signs put down and the security guard came up and said the signs were “disruptive” when they were put down and out of everyone’s way

police were soon called to the protesters

he brought them over to that specific wall to show them the Code of Conduct

and said that the signs were containing “Disruptive profanity, vulgar or threatening language”

me and my friends caught up to the said protesters with their signs and these were the signs

…i dont see the disruptive language/profanity/vulgar and/or threatening words in these posters

this is the third time this month that the security guards played the “racial profiling” card and P.O.C. have taken backlash from this

The real problem with books-turned-movies isn’t “omg they didn’t include every single word in the book” it’s “omg they completely overlooked the main theme, threw out any significant allegories, took away all the emotional pull, an turned it into a boring action movie with a love triangle in it”
